ROSE - ATEX Enclosures as standard and as customized solutions
Klinkmann supplies ATEX-certified ROSE enclosures to Eurotank. Standard enclosure solutions, with customizing possibility, are always a good solution for the client, as they save both time and money. Pre-certified enclosures are always a good solution for the customer, saving both time and money.
Eurotank is a manufacturer of tank vehicles specializing in fuel transport. The company designs and produces tanks and tank trailers for demanding transportation needs, requiring a wide variety of enclosures in their installations. Klinkmann supplied Eurotank with ROSE’s Ex-certified enclosures.
Eurotank´s customers are located worldwide, with key markets including the Nordic countries, the Baltics and other EU countries.
- We manufacture truck-mounted tanks, full trailers, and semi-trailers for transporting gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, and urea. Our tanks are made of aluminum, which gives them a certain lightness and durability, explains Henrik Joki, Eurotank’s Sales Manager.
A Standard or Customized Enclosure for Immediate Use
The cooperation between Klinkmann and Eurotank began when Eurotank needed to find a new enclosure supplier.
- We searched for suitable enclosure options and came across Klinkmann and ROSE. Our research showed that they make enclosures in the dimensions we need. Together with Klinkmann, we started looking into how we could get the most ready-to-use solutions directly, Joki recalls.
- ROSE had a ready-made assembly and ATEX certification for the space and temperature classes we require. The greatest benefit comes when the enclosure supplier already has valid certificates. Third-party certification is expensive, and for small production runs, it becomes very costly. Ready-made certifications also speed up the process, as deliveries can be made quickly, Joki explains.
Custom Color and Silk Printing
The design and ordering process proceeded with Klinkmann and Eurotank selecting suitable enclosures from the ROSE assortment. Eurotank then uses design software to create the desired enclosure. The finished enclosure design is sent as a 3D image to ROSE factory in Germany, where a factory designer reviews it. The final pricing is then calculated for each customized solution.
- After we approve the pricing, ROSE sends production drawings for our final approval. In case, the designer moves some holes to a different position, it is important to re-check the drawings carefully, Joki says.
“The enclosures come with pre-installed Ex terminal blocks, where wires could be directly connected. They also have cutouts and Ex cable glands. We add silk printing directly to the enclosure and use our custom color, Joki adds.
Learning Together Through the Process
Eurotank is satisfied with the ready-made enclosures. Getting everything from one place made the process efficient. The cooperation with Klinkmann was smooth throughout. Both parties learned new things together.
Thanks to this collaboration, Eurotank didn’t need to manufacture, assemble or seek certification for the enclosures themselves.
- To supply customized enclosures with fast service, tests also the flexibility of Klinkmann’s service team, Joki says.
