Valio, Finland’s largest dairy and food company, has trusted AVEVA platforms for production information management for over 20 years. At its Suonenjoki site in Eastern Finland — the country’s largest berry processor—around 14 million kilograms of jams and purees are produced annually, alongside marmalades and bakery fillings.
To manage this scale efficiently, Valio has implemented a robust production management and reporting system based on the AVEVA System Platform, delivered by Klinkmann. The system enables line-by-line monitoring, control and management via several operator stations, ensuring real-time visibility and traceability across operations.

AVEVA Historian — a centralized industrial database — collects real-time production data from the various control devices, helping to share accurate, role-specific information with relevant teams.
Each production line operates independently with its own recipes and automation, but the control setup also allows cross-line management, enhancing fault tolerance.
